TRIP TO NIVALA IN JANUARY 2020
Saturday 25th January
Late in the Saturday evening the guests arrived in Nivala. The host families were waiting for the children at the hotel.
Sunday 26th January
We all went to the sporting center to skate and bowl. Later we had a pizza buffet at the hotel. Then the children had free time with their host families and the adults went to Aseman Helmi café.
Monday 27th January
After the guided tour of Kyösti Kallio School there was a welcoming ceremony in the school hall.
In the afternoon the pupils had an art workshop about Sami people ancient art. The adults had a project meeting.
In the evening there was a get-together at the Pyssymäki outdoor center (skiing, sledging, winter olympics, roasting sausages etc.)
Tuesday 28th January
The day started with a project meeting and the pupils took part in classes with their hosts.
In the afternoon we visited the Church on Nivala and met the mayor in the town hall.
Later the adults went shopping and dining to the neighbouring town. The children spent the evening with their host families.
Wednesday 29th January
The teachers and the children visited Oulu. In the morning we visited Tietomaa science center and the afternoon we spent shopping and eating in the city center.
Thursday 30th January
The students and the teachers had learning by doing -workshops at school.
In the last evening the adults had a get-together at the deputy headmaster’s house.
Friday 31st January
Early in the morning the guests started their journey to home.
